We’d like to take a moment to express our support and gratitude to the black communities and creators that built the foundations for dance music worldwide and continue to drive music cultures forward. Without them, these scenes could not exist, your favorite records would not exist, and so much beauty in this world would be lost.
Art can not be removed from political and social context. We hope protestors stay safe, that people continue to monetarily support the organizations doing the most critical work, and that we take this time to have more conversations with our friends and relatives about the issues. Impartiality and complacency are not an option.
Listening as a means of deeper experience and understanding has always been at the core of what we do. This extends beyond just music. More than ever, take this opportunity to listen, to reflect, to acknowledge, to learn, to grow, and to make your voice stronger as we advocate for justice.
Like many, we’ve been looking for ways to make a difference in our own community. Below is a list of regional organizations that could use our support right now:
>Black Love Resists in the Rust
>Buffalo Bail Fund
>BLM Cleveland
>Pittsburgh Bail Fund
>Reclaim The Block – Minneapolis
>Showing Up For Racial Justice
In solidarity,
SA
